Chapter 18
THE manager welcomed Jan and Kate when they arrived in the restaurant.
“Good afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Villamar,” the woman smiled at them. “Let me escort you to your reservation.” She gestured in the hallway.
“Thanks.” Jan nodded his head and turned to her. “Let’s go, Katherine.
He palmed her back and guided her along the way.
She was surprised to learn that her husband had reserved a private dining hall for their lunch.
“This is unnecessary, Jan,” Kate muttered as they walked towards the table.
He pulled a chair for her.
“Consider this as our first date,” Jan said with a grin as he sat on the chair across hers.
Kate tried to calm herself when she felt her stomach flutter. Did he just say that they were on a date?
“Excuse me, Sir, Ma’am,” the manager chimed in. “I will have your meal served in fifteen minutes,” she informed them before going out of the dining hall.
