Chapter 75

Quinn POV

Just before we reach the parking lot we hear a gunshot followed by a scream and the sound of something hard hitting the side of the van. The smell of blood hits my nose as I round the end of the van where I see April crouched down beside a body lying on the ground. Oh Goddess, please, don’t let me be too late. April jumps to her feet and takes up a fighting stance. I see her shoulders relax when she realizes it’s me. I run to her grabbing her into a bone-crushing hug as I look over her shoulder at the body on the ground. The guy is naked and has what looks to be a gunshot wound to his left shoulder. I start to step around April towards the guys when April stops me by grabbing my forearm. “Meg’s in the van.”

All thoughts of the guy on the ground are gone. I rush to the back of the van as Gage reaches for the handle. I place my hand on his stopping him. “There is a guy with a gunshot wound that needs attention. I’ve got this.” With a nod of understanding, he moves off the assi
