My eyes narrowed on him. “That would explain why seven shots of tequila and you appear.”

“Was it seven?” He questioned. “From across the room, looked more like nine.”

Was it nine? I had no idea. I’d lost count after five.

“Have you been watching me?”

He shrugged. “Thought maybe someone should keep you two from wandering upstairs with a bad sort.”
