CH 24: One Night at The Mansion

Lizzy’s POV

“OK, Mom. Sorry,” I replied.

“Nevermind. Let’s sit down and eat,” she invited as she hugged and kissed Jason.

Something escaped my attention, but Clara was standing behind Margaret. She also hugged me and Jason. But Clara’s presence at the dinner made me feel uncomfortable.

Sometimes I wondered if I was the right woman for Jason. Do I deserve to stand next to him? I don’t come from a wealthy family. Nor did I have a higher education like Clara.

Clara had everything. A beautiful face, a sexy body, comes from a rich family, went to a prestigious school, and everything else that I didn’t have.
