CH 25: The Truth

Lizzy’s POV

Suddenly, John came closer, his eyes looking at me with a mysterious gaze. I didn’t know what was going through his mind at that moment. To keep my distance from him, I walked backward until finally my back hit the wall and some used items fell to the floor and made a loud noise.

“John, do nothing stupid, please,” I pleaded as I stretched my arms out in front of my chest.

He leaned one hand against the wall, his eyes still looking at me. “I would never hurt you, Lizzy. I realize what I’ve done.” Then he let out a long breath.

“I’m sorry. I was just joking by saying something about a murder suspect. Can you tell me about that important thing now?” I asked, while returning his gaze.

As we stared at each other, I became convinced that John's and Jason’s faces were indeed different. John had a facial resemblance to James and Margaret, while Jason had no resemblance to his parents and younger brother.

“Did Jason ask you to hurry back to the room? Don’t you like being around me?
