Clara’s POV

I pressed my ear to the door to listen to the conversation between my dad and that person. He sounded angry in his voice. His tone was lofty. I felt uncomfortable. Dad had rarely talked about Jason and James. So why was he talking about them now?

“It’s completely useless! You can’t even kidnap one person. So, what can you do? Twenty years ago, your friends also failed to kidnap a ten-year-old child. And now, you failed too. They were unarmed while you were armed. But you still failed! You disappoint me,” Dad yelled.
