Maya’s POV

As Aaron reached his imposing mansion and dismounted from the horse, a palpable tension seemed to radiate from him.

His authoritative presence was undeniable, and I watched as he barked orders to his soldiers, his voice carrying an air of command that brooked no disobedience.

He instructed them to take me to my room and ensure that I didn't escape again, the threat of dire consequences hanging heavily in the air.

“I will cut off your necks if she escapes “ he simply said before walking away without a single glance my way, as if I don't exist.

Fear gripped me, a cold hand squeezing my heart as I was led back to my room by the soldiers.
