Royal's Pov

Taking a deep breath, I knelt down to be at eye level with Aiden.

Before I could answer, Alpha Chase blurted out, "Yes I am your father!"

The words hung in the air, and for a moment, me and Aiden both stared at Alpha Chase in utter surprise. The crackling of the fire seemed to echo the shock that just enveloped us.

"Chase," I said softly, her voice a mix of disbelief and confusion.

Chase winked at me then turned to Aiden with eyes filled with determination, "I know I should have told you both sooner, but I wanted to make sure it was the right time. Aiden, you are my son, and I've always been watching over you from afar."

Aiden's eyes widened, a whirlwind of emotions washing over him. "You're my father? But... why didn't you tell me before?"

Chase knelt down next to me and placed a hand on Aiden's shoulder. "I wanted to keep you and your mother safe. There were dangerous forces that threatened us, and I thought it was best to stay away until we could ensure your safety."
