Royal's POV

As our lips locked once again, my mind raced with conflicting emotions. This was Chase, the Alpha who sent me away. He didn't believe me when I was all alone. But now, something changed between us, and I couldn't ignore the intensity of the feelings rushing through me.

As we kissed, my heart battled with my rational mind. I pulled away gently, breaking the kiss, and a heavy silence hung in the air. My heart pounded in my chest, and I could see the confusion mirrored in Chase's eyes.

"Silver," he whispered, his voice soft and uncertain. "I... I don't know what just happened, but I can't ignore how I feel about you."

My breath hitched, and I took a step back, creating some distance between us. "Chase, I can't deny that there's something between us, but we can't act on it. We've been through so much together, and I don't want to jeopardize our friendship."
