Alpha Chase's Pov

My heart sank at his words, and anger boiled inside me. "Heavens know I would find whoever caused this," I gritted.

Who would do such a thing? And why? My mind raced as I tried to come up with answers, but none seemed to make sense.

"Can't you do anything to save her?" I asked the doctor, my voice impatient.

"I am going to do everything I can," he replied, "but the poison has already spread too far. I'm sorry, but I don't think there's much hope."
