Chapter 39

After speaking, Thomas coughed a few times. His body was so weak that he couldn't summon any energy. It was a far cry from the spirited figure he displayed a few days ago during his morning workout in the yard.

Jessamine cried uncontrollably. She was reminded of her grandmother, whose health had deteriorated rapidly after a simple fall in the yard. Half a year later, they were separated forever.

At his age, people's bodies were extremely fragile. They could leave this world at any time.

"Grandpa, please stop talking and rest," urged Jessamine.

Thomas sighed, and tears welled up in the corners of his eyes. Then he began to cough violently.

Jessamine was so distressed that words failed her.
