~Chapter 9- Damon

I yawn, getting up from the bed I walk out of my room..

Where's mum?

I rub my eyes as I walk down the flight of stairs, my vision a little blurry.

I squint my eyes to see the bright light coming from the kitchen.

Mum must be making cookies!

I smile, eagerly making my way towards the brightly lit kitchen

Anticipating mum's famous chocolate chip cookies.

I stopped dead in my tracks as all the breath was knocked out of me.

All the blood in me ran cold as I saw mum lying on the floor in a pool of her own blood.

I felt my knees go weak and I fell to the ground, my eyes not leaving my dear mother's face.

"M-m-mum"

I whisper her name, not daring to move closer to her.

Her face was ghostly pale, her lips were blue. Her blue eyes we're lifelessly cold as they stared at the roof, not moving.

I felt my world crumble underneath me, all the colour had drained from my face as my breathing became erratic.

I stared at mother's lifeless corpse, no tears came, nothing.
