The reception hall was stunning. I hadn’t expected it to turn out this good, but of course, with Aunt Carla on the job, I should have known. It seemed that most people had found their seats while others were talking. Jarren and I spoke to a few people as we walked to the bridal party table.

“What took you two so long?” Kaileeh asked, wagging her eyebrows as I sat down beside her.

“Not what you think. He can’t do it that fast,” I stated, and Xander fell into laughter.

           After realizing what I’d said and calculating the number of vampires, werewolves, or other supernatural beings with super hearing, I put my hand over my face and let out a groan. I’d have to filter my mouth more. Jarren pulled my hand from my face and kissed it.

“Don’t worry about it.”

“Easy for you to say. You didn’t say it.”
