A Peaceful Place Of Escape

“Get me a new suit, it's time to go home,” he said.

“Yes Mr.Black” he replied then left the room.

The Williams family is at war for every grown male. Ever since Marwood Williams, the head of the house died without sharing his will. Black was smart and being the favorite son, he was given 80% of the wills while the remaining 20% was shared by the rest. With this, they loathed him to the core.

Daniel William was nowhere near competing with him four years ago but he heard rumors of his success in getting more funds to expand his business and now he's also on his blacklist of enemies to contend with.

Black is a very smart, sick, and tyrannical player. Ever since the incident 3 years ago, he never took off his mask and he faked a report that he couldn't walk.

He goes to the office in a mask and in a wheelchair. Not every day, just to check some important things and development still his enemies wouldn't stop coming for him.

The hotel belongs to him and he stayed on the off-limit floor last night. This gives him more reason to believe his stepbrother must have sent the girl to him and drugged his drink with viagra.

——The Williams Mansion

Not just the wealth, Black inherited the vast land of Williams Mansion. He changed the building to an entirely new look to suit his living. His stepmother had left the house with Daniel years back when they couldn't live with him.

They would come only when summoned by the old lady Williams. Daniel and Black grandmother. She's highly respected by all and including her two grandchildren no matter how powerful they are.

Kai and Black arrived at the mansion with him in a wheelchair and a white shawl on his thighs.

Kai wheeled him into the house where the whole family have been waiting, including Daniel who arrived last night.

“Your dear brother has come to pay you a visiting brother, I wish you sound health,” Daniel said with a smile.

Black’s poker face remained unchanged, he retained eye contact with Daniel as if he could see through his heart. That kind of look would make any man quail, the type that forces his enemies to go on their knees.

His gaze was sharp and mean, Daniel was still scared of it no doubt. He wishes he could curse him out loud and stab him to death.

“You’re welcome Daniel,” he said simply and rolled his eyes to leave the scene when his grandma stopped him.

“Black William! You had promised to give me a good wife and children in a few months but I find everywhere empty, why is that?” she asked in a worried voice, the wrinkles on her face moving as she talks.

“Grandma,” he said devoid of expression.

“I'm not getting younger Black. You need someone to take care of you and I need my grandchildren” She cried.

“Mother, you should not trouble Black so much. He is so sick and disabled, how can he give you any children?” Lady Rose said mockingly.

“What do you mean?! He can get any girl he wants in this city!” Old lady Williams said.

“He never takes that mask off too! How do we know he isn't ruined everywhere?” Lady Rose added. She has never been the type to hide her ill thoughts.

“Mind your words, Rose! I will find him a good bride and you will see!” She boasted.

Black said nothing to interrupt the two women, he only looked at Kai once and he understood his master’s unsaid words. He moved forward and pushed his wheelchair out of sight.

~~~With nowhere to stay, Daphne was very tired from walking the entire street and she was hungry.
She salivates to the food being served to customers as she lurks around a restaurant.
“So stupid of you Daph! You should have at least waited to challenge them! They should be hiding their ugly face and not you!” she said affirmatively to herself.
“Oh no,” she cried as she bangs her head on the glass wall.
Then she remembered the masked pimp again.
“That damn inexperienced Pimp! I'm sore all over and I wasted my money on him... Wait and my mother’s pearl necklace! Oh no!” she exclaimed.
When she was about to cry, her grandmother’s call came in.
She wipes her tears to fake happiness
“Hi Grandma, how have you been?” she asked in a lively tone.
But it wasn't her grandma speaking.
“Is this Miss Daphne Hendrix?” the stranger’s voice came.
“Yes, this is her. Why are you with my grandma’s phone?” she asked with uneasiness.
“Your grandma is sick and she wants you to help her back home on the farm to pay her hospital bills” The nurse explained.
“ What? Sick? How sick?” she starts to cry again with a pool of tears streaming down her face. She seems to be the one that loves crying.
Her chubby cheeks flushed pink and her beautiful eyes as well. Tears filled her deep blue eyes as she clutch her red Auburn hair into a mess.
She ended the call all confused, if she was to travel down to the countryside, she will need money which she doesn't even have at all.
The thought of going to look for the pimp crossed her mind but she quickly waved it off “I'm sure he probably wants me dead more than those betrayers” She said with her fist clenched into balls.
She summoned all courage to return home and luckily for her, Daniel and Jessica were gone.
She sighed when she saw none of them but then her eyes caught the wallet on Jessica’s makeup stand. They seem to have left in a rush.
She entered and searched the wallet, lo and behold! She found hundreds of dollar notes inside. She took the wallet and left no bills for them.
“This won't make up for anything but it should hit you bad! I will come back for you all” she swore vengeance.
Daphne packed her clothes and left the city to go check on her Grandma.
