CHAPTER SEVENTY-FIVE

NORA

I was pacing around my room after I had searched for Gavner everywhere in the castle but couldn't find him.

Has he gone?

Without seeing me?

I had no idea why I wasn't happy. I was supposed to be happy that he was finally leaving my life, but I'm tensed up.

Memories flashed back right in front of my eyes, making me realize the only mistake he made was rejecting me and trying to sell me off.

He has been there for me in ways I couldn't explain—how he was there at the right timing... Now Horace has ordered him to leave.

I grasped my head in pain... I wasn't sure I would be able to cope. Apart from Marcel, he was the only one who helped subside my hunger for blood.

I didn't trust him, but I knew he'd keep his word when he said he was going to be there for me.

My head was going berserk when the door pushed open and Lilith walked in.

Rushing to her, I held her hand, my face explaining everything I wanted to say.

She sighed, "He's nowhere in the castle."

I intended on talking with Horace
