TRISTAN'S POV:Hearing her call my name made me come to my senses, as though I had dozed off and just come back to life. I was holding her arms up against the wall, her top roughly handled, and her bosom exposed.Shit! Shit! What have I done?I stared into her green eyes laced with tears, my mind reeling. She was crying; I had never seen her cry, and it was not a pleasant sight. She looked devastated and in shock. Her eyes clamped shut, and more tears ran down her face, already smothered with tears and snot."Let me go..." She croaked out lowly, her voice sounding tired and exhausted.Subconsciously, my grip slackened as I let her go, and she slipped down the wall. She quickly pulled up the remnants of her top as she pulled up her knees to her chest. I could tell she was pretty affected, considering the sharp look in her gaze as she stared at me, waiting for me to make a move.I moved closer to her, but she quickly backed off, looking defensive. I couldn't help sighing at this, knowin
RAVEN’S POVI woke up the next morning only to find myself lying on the floor of the room, my knees clutched to my chest. I had no idea how I slept off, but my whole body ached, and I felt rather awful after sleeping on the cold floor all night. As I sat there on the floor, everything that happened the night before came rushing down in torrents. The jotter pad on my bed was still left open, the pages opening from time to time.I couldn't help but sigh.As I stood up from the bare floor, there was a sudden knock on the door. It was Lena."Come in," I told her.She walked in, closing the door behind her. I noticed she looked rather vibrant tonight, unlike how she was yesterday when she first came to me."Good morning, miss." She bowed. "I'm here to clean your room."I reached out to pick up the book and my phone before looking up at her. "My room? You don't need to; I can do that myself."She shook her head, however, looking frazzled. "No, you can't do that, Miss."I sighed, knowing she
RAVEN’S POV:"We're here," the driver informed me as the cab pulled up in front of the huge skyscraper. I paid him and got down, in front of the gates. When I looked up, I saw the name 'Alpha' boldly written on a plaque on top of the building. I was at the right place.Although yesterday I was pissed off by what Tristan did, I applied and did a mobile evaluation test for the assistant secretary job he said there was a vacancy for. Thankfully, I was informed a few hours later that I had been shortlisted, and I should come this morning for my final interview.I didn't really expect to be shortlisted at all as I believed a lot of people must have already applied before, as yesterday was even the deadline. No one would sit still when it came to such a big company. But now that I passed the initial test, I hoped I would be selected in the final interview, too.I adjusted the shirt I was putting on, feeling rather confident today. Thankfully, Bethany chose every type of outfit. Otherwise, I
RAVEN'S POV:After the interview, I took a cab and returned home. When I entered the main living room, I noticed it was all quiet, and only two girls were sitting there, deeply engrossed in their chat. Upon seeing me come in, they immediately stopped talking and gave me a once-over. Their expressions seemed to say that they were wondering if I heard everything they were saying.I didn't anyway, so I just nodded at them in greeting before walking off. But as I walked away, I heard them say, "She must have heard what we said. I don't know what makes her so arrogant. Do you know that she doesn't talk to anybody?"Then the other responded, "Do you know who she is? I heard the Alpha brought her here."I didn't expect them to talk about me, especially within my earshot, but I didn't react to it and instead walked up the stairs, heading to my room. When I reached my door, however, I found three girls standing around. Their faces looked rather familiar, but I didn't remember where I met them.
LUCAS'S POV:The door of my office opened, and Rolf entered with the spy who had just returned from the Shadow Moon Pack behind him. I sat up on the sofa, which was still littered with papers since I moved there for my work instead of the desk."Alpha." The two of them greeted with a salute while Rolf added, "I brought in the spy, sir. He just came back with news from the Shadow Moon Pack, and he said he has urgent news to relate to you."I was instantly at alert at this. If there was urgent news from that place, then it must be something very big. Although I was still sceptical. Tristan was always a wary man. Even if he didn't notice there was a spy amongst his people, surely he wouldn't be so careless for important news to spill out. So, I doubted the news he brought was any useful. But, I still needed to know anyway."Okay, sit," I told the man, who immediately bowed while Rolf left the room. "I'm all ears."He pressed his palms together and quickly began to tell me. "I overheard w
RAVEN’S POV:I frantically rushed out of the pack house, tying my hair into a lazy bun as I checked the time on my phone. It was half past seven, and I was meant to clock in at eight; at this rate, I'd be late. My eyes quickly scanned the area for a cab, hoping to catch one.It was yesterday when I received my employment letter to resume work today, and due to my excitement about the good news, Bethany managed to convince me to drink with her. I completely slept off last night and forgot to set an alarm, so I was getting late for work. So now, early morning on a Tuesday, I was struggling to get to work, half groggy, and a head aching with a hangover. However, to my dismay, there were no cabs in sight. Usually, cabs were always scarce in this area because most of the people had a car. And the only bus station available was a few streets from here. As I stood there, I contemplated going back in to persuade Bethany to drive me there, but I couldn't even be sure she had woken up yet.But
RAVEN’S POV:"Why are you late?" she questioned, her tone rather harsh as she glanced at her wristwatch before adding, "You are ten minutes late on your first day at work. Where is your commitment to this job?"I inwardly panicked, but I had to think quickly to come up with an explanation. I couldn't let this first impression ruin my chances at this job."I had an issue at the elevator," I replied calmly. "None of them were working, and I had to wait for a while before finding an alternative."She stared at me with a penetrating gaze for a few seconds. The look in her eyes told me she was trying to make me cower, so I held her gaze in return. Eventually, she seemed to realize there was nothing she could nitpick about since I explained sincerely."I hope it won't happen again," she finally remarked, her voice still stern. "Lateness is not allowed in this company."I nodded gently at this as I responded, "Yes, Ms. Williams. It won't happen again." I read the employee guide sent along wi
RAVEN’S POV:I turned to look at her, surprised by the confrontation. She soon reached me and stopped in front of me, standing a head taller due to her extremely long heels. She looked down at me with her nose upturned and eyebrows raised tightly. She gave me a condescending look as she mouthed, "Did you not hear what I said? How dare you ignore me?"I was initially stunned because I didn't recognize or know who she was. But since she seemed to be here to see the Alpha, I apologized even without knowing what I did wrong. "I'm sorry, ma. How may I help you?"She hissed, however, looking at me with contempt, but I was not in any way bothered. I've seen my fair share of them, and they don't bother me anymore. She then proceeded to approach the door of his office.Seeing that she was going to enter just like that, I quickly stepped forward, halting her. "I'm sorry, but you can't enter." Although my position was assistant secretary, I was meant to do receptionist jobs and inform the Alpha
