MARK'S POV:

“I have a friend that will help with the fund,” Jennie said, her voice steady but her eyes reflecting the same anxiety I felt.

"Jennie, it's crucial that you reach out to your friend right away. We don't have time on our side. and I am on the brink of bankruptcy," I said, running a hand through my hair in frustration as the gravity of the situation weighed heavily on me.

Jennie nodded and quickly pulled out her phone, dialling with trembling fingers.

I watched her, feeling a sense of urgency that bordered on panic. Every second felt like an eternity as she waited for her friend to pick up.

Finally, she spoke, her voice hurried but clear.

"Hey, it's Jennie. I need to talk to you urgently. Can we meet today? It's about... Yes, it's serious. Thank you." She hung up and turned to me with a worried expression etched on her face.

"He'll meet us in an hour at the café down the street," she said, her voice tense with urgency.
