Chapter 55

MARK'S POV:

As I regained consciousness, I found myself in a place that was completely unfamiliar. The air was filled with the clinical scent of antiseptic, and the sound of medical equipment beeping seemed to reverberate throughout the room. When I attempted to shift position, I realized that my body felt incredibly heavy and uncooperative. A rush of fear gripped me as I realized that I was connected to various machines that were meticulously monitoring every single breath I took. It was then that I became aware that I was lying on the bed.

I suddenly felt the presence of someone I didn't recognize standing beside me. "Mr. Mark, you're awake. Just stay calm. You've been through a lot," she said softly.

“Where... am I?" I managed to croak out, my throat dry and scratchy.

"You've been in a coma for three months. You had a severe reaction to a medication, but you're going to be okay now." She gently explained.

"A coma! Three whole months!” My response was filled with surprise
