Jake brought the witches after an hour of me pacing nonstop while nurses attended to Naomi. She lost a lot of blood and the doctor, who I just remembered concealed all of his face with nose masks, I didn't think of it as weird because he was a doctor.

But now I knew it was to hide from me. I wonder who it could be.

But now that the witches were here, I could get my answers.

My mother called, just checking in on us, and I had to lie through my teeth. No one could know what happened.

Jake smiled as he led them in but his smirk drooped the instant he saw the scowl on my face, and he shifted to show the witches he got.

A very old woman who later shook her head as she placed a hand on me.

"These are the best witches I could find. I had to pay handsomely-"

"Woe!" The woman screamed and I flinched, moving from her and causing her hand to drop.

She cackled, and I realised she couldn't see, at least not the traditional way.
