Xander's eyes widened in surprise as he saw me join him in the balcony and guilt flashed in his eyes. He knew why I was there.

"Hey," he smiled as I stepped right beside him.

"Hey," I smiled back, and a mini awkward silence filled the rest of the balcony.

I didn't know what to say. I had no idea what to say to him.

Sorry about dad's death? He was happy about it.

I'm happy Hazel's here with you? What the hell was that? I was two days late.

"When are you leaving?" I blurted out, immediately cringing as I heard how that sounded like.

He scratched the back of his head, avoiding direct eye contact. "Yeah, about that... I thought I could stay here, with Hazel. She seems to like it here… I should have clarified with you to know if you were going to be comfortable with that-"

"No no. I didn't mean the question that way. I had no idea you were planning to stay with us."

He gave an uncomfortable smile. "Bad idea right? I could swear Seth still wants to kill me for almost killing him."
