Lycan laughed at a cold and heartless sound. "You're both fools. Freedom is a fantasy. You belong to me, and you always will."

He ordered his men to deal with us and take us back to our cell.

I woke up in my cell, my body aching with pain. Lykos was lying next to me, unconscious. I remembered what had happened, how Lycan had ordered his men to attack us, and how Lykos had sacrificed himself to protect me.

I gently shook Lykos, trying to wake him up, but he didn't respond. I was worried that he might never wake up, that he might be gone forever. Tears streamed down my face as I thought about all the things I wished I had said to him.

Days turned into weeks, and Lykos remained unconscious. I spent most of my time by his side, tending to his wounds and hoping that he would wake up. I felt hopeless and alone, but I refused to give up.

One day, while I was sitting by Lykos's side, a guard walked in. "Lycan wants to see you," he said.

I stood up, my body sore and weak, and followed the guard
