Provoking the beast

Eleanor had no idea why the poison was suddenly working on her, but she knew one thing. She could not let this happen.

Henry was waiting for her, and she had to bring Jonathan and his little empire down. If he managed to control her, everything she had done so far would all be in vain.

She closed her eyes and focused, fighting hard to remain sober even as her wolf spiralled out of control. Her skin was clammy with sweat from the exertion. However, even her efforts were not enough to stop a moan from slipping past her lips.

Jonathan was surprised to hear Eleanor moan. Even better, her body had grown pliant beneath his, the fight draining out of her. It surprised him–he had expected to have to force her because the poison had no effect on her. But now, it suddenly seemed to be working.

His eyes wandered to Livi’s dresser, where a few candles burned. They were scented candles that filled the room with a champignon smell, which could weaken a werewolf.
