Running out of time

Livi whimpered and pulled her hand out of Eleanor’s right away. Jonathan walked into the room and shut the door behind him, his eyes moving from one to the other suspiciously. “What the hell is going on here?”

Eleanor shot to her feet, shielding the trembling girl with her body. “Nothing, we were just chatting.”

“Chatting about what?” Jonathan asked. His eyes dropped to Livi, who had gotten to her feet. “You know that you are not supposed to let anyone but me into this room.”

“It’s totally my fault,” Eleanor jumped in before Livi could say anything. “She warned me but I did not think it would do any harm. I might have been too pushy.”

Jonathan’s eyes narrowed as he scoffed. “Is that so?”

“Yes,” Eleanor said. “Since I will be staying here for a while, I thought it would be nice to get to know some of the girls better.”
