I stood outside the door to Ethan's chambers, sighing at intervals. I was clad in a brown silk dress, which did next to nothing to cover my nakedness.

It was already days since Ethan tried to have his way with me. Days since I bit his hands forcefully, drawing blood. Days since he punched my face, leaving a dark circle around my eye.

I had gone for days without food, after that. All I endured was pure torture. It had already become a norm, that I escorted him to the meeting hall whenever he wanted to have a discussion with his father.
