Failing health

Kira's POV

Carl's absence was immensely felt, the bar and gym didn't exactly feel the same without him. And this morning I am not in the mood to be trained by Xander, but knowing him well enough, he would call me and make me pull my ear back to him. For now, I will just laze around until noon, it's been a day since I checked on my dad.

Because of how heart-wrenching the view is, I leave his room crying my eyes out. He gets paler with each passing day. I met Amber in the hallway heading to his chamber.

“Hey sis.” She grinned at me.

I huffed, “why are you so happy?”

Amber raised a suspicious grin at me, “is there a crime in being happy?”

“I don't like how calm you appear.”

She snorted, “jealous pea.”

I laughed lightly, “silly.”

“Kira, have you noticed mum lately?”

“What's wrong with her?”

“I wonder if you exist around here Kira. You live in a clouded space in that head of yours. I would think it's the tea at work, but it's been doing wonders in my body.” She twirled
