Proud Moments

Xander's POV

I stood rigidly, turning around to look at Mira. Her eyes looked scared, and I could tell she wasn't making anything up. I had promised myself to never allow her into my space again, but judging by how serious the situation on hand appears. We would be needing any information we can get.

The video that had been recorded did give much out, since none of our suspects came up in the video. For a week, Kira and I have been trying so hard to gather evidence to use against Leila and the rest. But they seemed to also be playing safe.

Taking a deep breath, I gestured towards a chair for us to seat. Miguel looked disinterested as he stood up, walking away. “this had better be worth my time. I told her.”

Mira nodded, “before I continue, I just want you to know, Xander, that I feel really ashamed of what I did to you. I had no idea about what I was getting myself into. Furthermore, I let my emotions get the better of me, and I lost my sense of reasoning. Pardon me, please.”
