Chapter 32

Axel's Pov

Leah was short of words, she looked at me, as if searching for any hint of deceit. I looked closely into her eyes, "Trust me this once again, Leah," I said. I knew I had caused her so much pain.

I had broken her fragile heart again and again, but this time, I wanted to make things right with her. Leah lowered her gaze, "I don't know if I can trust you, Axel. I don't know," she said hesitantly. "Please, Leah, just this once," I begged her.

She sighed and stood up, walking closer to the window. "There is no way we can get past this angry mob, there is no way," Leah said, shaking her head.

I stood up and said, "Leave that to me," she looked at me, confused. I smiled and brought out some costumes I had prepared. After some time, Leah was looking like a handsome young man; her short bob hair was tied up in a bun, and she had put on a fake beard. I ordered Derek to go out and wait for us in the car, while Leah was to walk out with a briefcase to appear like a businessman.
