Kai's POV

Still in my study, I turned to walk out, but Adam's unconcerned feature got me halting midway.

“Do you have something else on your mind you want to say to me?” I questioned, and my brow furrowed deeply.

“I know you do have a point, Kai, but do you have any proof regarding Nadia’s involvement in Alana’s disappearance, or are you just going to accuse her with mere assumptions?"

I sighed, frustration and determination etched on my face. "Like I said before, I have every right to think she is behind it. And even if I don’t have any proof yet, I still can't let this go. I can't ignore the gut feeling that gnaws at me each time I listen to her talk. I need to confront her and make her confess to the crime if she's truly responsible."

Adam leaned forward, his eyes locked on mine. "And how do you plan on doing that, Kai?"

"I'll go to her chambers," I replied, my jaw set grimly. "I'll demand answers from her; if she doesn't cooperate, I'll make her talk."
