Chapter 38

Delilah's POV:

It was finally the D-Day. I woke up earlier than the alarm as I was already feeling so jittery. I went out and ran more than usual in the hope of clearing my mind a bit. The truth was I had no reins of my own life in my hands and it was so disturbing. It felt like someone else was dictating my whole life and I was bound to do whatever they wanted like a puppet.

Back in my room, I greeted Addy with a gloomy, "Good Morning."

Her voice was even more grieving as she replied dully, "Good Morning."

I looked at her and frowned at her condition. Hair exploded in every direction, eyes puffed up, and dry tear stains on her cheeks indicated that she was suffering.

Slowly, I tip-toed to her bed, "What happened? Are you okay?"

She slumped back on her bed and buried her face under the pillow, "Yes, I am fine."

And then, all of a sudden, it finally hit me. Today was the Claiming Ball, and all the unmated werewolves and lycans were expected to attend it to find their mates which meant.
