Xander's POV:

Antonio had already prepared and submitted the list to the council bearing the names of all the unmated members of my pack who'd be attending the ball under Lucas's supervision. Lucas was not happy with my decision at all but he really didn't have any ground for arguments, still, the fucker kept trying to change my mind but I too stayed persistent.

I wasn't going to trample over what I and Delilah had built and go ahead to the Ball to find my mate. I had already made up my mind to have her as my Chosen Mate the moment I got to know she was actually a werewolf. For me, that was a sign enough of fate.

On the morning of the ball, Lucas did succeed in his plan when he flung open my office door and stomped inside, "What about Delilah then?"
