Chapter 48

Delilah's POV:

I ran to the shed near the gate, shifted, and grabbed a pair of jeans and a shirt from the drawer. Putting on the clothes, I went back to Antonio, "I am Delilah."

His teeth bared at me, "I know very well who you are. Answer my question now."

I was running out of time. I swallowed and tried to move past him toward the door. A hand clasped around my upper arm and jerked me back, "I am expecting an explanation, girl."

I whimpered under his hard gaze, "I need to see Xee right now. It's urgent. Please, let me go to him or you can tell him that I am here."

He pushed me backward and I stumbled over the stairs before landing on the ground. Before I could move up, he was right onto my face, "Who the fuck do you think you are to order me around?"

I scooted back and finally got up to my feet, "I am Delilah and I need to see him right..."

He cut me off harshly, "Are you his mate?" His head cocked to the side as he mocked me, "Which one? Fated one or the chosen one?" He rubbed
