Chapter 73

Delilah's POV:

I let out a shrilling scream as my knees scraped the ground. Planting my palms on the floor, I twirled around and found someone looming over me. In the dark, I was unable to see anything other than a silhouette but as a werewolf, I could sniff the same rotten smell oozing off of him and as a healer, I could identify his sinister aura.

The shadow moved closer to me and I rushed to crawl backward. My heart was thudding erratically in my chest as panic gripped my insides. I hastily turned my eyes around the room to search for my phone and all hope squeezed out of me when I saw it on the floor near the entrance.

Still, I took a courageous breath and crawled around the shadow to reach for my phone. Just as my fingers were about to touch it, I shrieked in pain as he clutched the fistful of my hair and jerked me back. My eyes widened with fear as I flew across the room and thudded against the far wall.
