Chapter 5

Xavier’s POV

“What is wrong, Sir?” Rune, my best friend asked as I stepped out from the bar.

“I met a crazy lady,”

“They are common now,” he laughed.

My mind went back to the beautiful crazy lady I just met inside. There was something strange about her. It feels like I have known her from somewhere but cannot place my thoughts on where exactly. The thought of her makes me feel weak.

“I_” I grit my teeth as the thoughts of her make me crave a woman’s body.

I hate feeling weak, I was vulnerable to her. The more I tried getting her off my mind, the harder the thought of her envelope my mind.

“Shit!”

“What’s wrong?” Rune was worried about me. It was evident on his face.

“Get me a woman; I need to calm myself,”

I got into the car and scratched my hair. I haven’t felt this way for a long time and that is strange. I have lived for centuries and have met many women but none has got my attention just like the crazy lady did.

I came to the bar after a very stressful day of searching for the moon goddess.

How on earth am I supposed to find a moon goddess? She doesn’t even leave amongst us but I have been cursed and will be free from the curse when I find her.

The moon goddess was my lover in her past life but was mistakenly killed by my sword. That’s the least I can remember from then but all I know was that I was cursed by the moon goddess for my carelessness and my lover to be reborn as the moon goddess. Until then, I will never have rest till I find her, make her fall in love with me and that breaks the curse.

I have left my pack under the care of my Beta for years in search of the moon goddess only for me to be cried on by the crazy lady at the bar.

“Psst.”

The knock on the door brought me back to the present. I stayed buried in the cold water tub to help ease my burning desire.

The urge is driving me crazy.

I know Rune must have brought in a woman as I have ordered. Without thinking further, I hopped out of the bathtub.

I put off the lights in the room to avoid being recognized. I do not want to see her face and do not want to remember having anything to do with her. Likewise, I can’t have the lady go about telling everyone she slept with the Dark Moon Alpha.

As soon as the lights were out, I went straight to bed. My hands came in contact with the smoothest skin I’d ever touched in a very long time. She reeks of alcohol but her scent seemed to be intoxicating, surpassing the effect of the alcohol ooze. Her scent was pulling me right to her.

I traced my hands over her body as I leaned over to kiss her succulent lips. I was wondering why she wasn’t responding or making any sound.

My mind was hazy. I couldn’t think of anything but ramming into her but something was off. My wolf, Ozed was restricting me like he was trying to tell me something.

I got up from the bed and put the lights back on.

“What?”

I immediately picked up my phone to reach Rune.

“Where did you get this lady?”

“Who? ” Rune asked confused.

“The lady you brought in,”

“Oh, I saw her at the bar,” he laughed. “She’s good right?”

My head spun as he said this. How could he be careless? I almost slept with the crazy lady.

“You brought me the crazy lady!” I found myself yelling. I don’t know why I was, especially when she was lying motionless on the bed.

“Sorry, Your Highness,” Rune said over the phone, and with that, I ended the call.

I brushed my hand through my hair and hissed. I turned and watched as she lay so innocently on the bed.

It felt like I had met her somewhere but couldn’t place my hand anywhere. The strange feeling whenever she is around, her scent, beautiful almond eyes, and her milky skin all seem familiar.

“She must be passing through a lot,” I pondered in my thoughts as I glared at her innocent face.

I was snapped back to reality when she suddenly began to jerk uncontrollably. The whites of her eyes were visible and she muttered inaudible words under her breath. Fear gripped me and immediately reached my phone to call Rune, my best friend for help.
