Terrible images were forming in my head. She wasn't picking up her calls. All I could think of was the night I followed her home. The feral would have attacked her if I wasn't there. What if something bad had happened to her now?

I felt like going back to kick the shit out of Eddy. I considered Eddy to be smart but today he disappointed me.

I was glad when he said he would be pleased to have Gwen in his company just for me to get back and find her missing.

What kind of friend can't keep a friend's mate (even though she's not) safe? I know they don't like her. But why can't they just tolerate her for me?

I know I told them I would hold on to her not because I wanted to but because I didn't want to end up rejecting my second chance mate. That I didn't know when I was going to get another. Although that was the excuse I had given them when they told me to reject her and I refused, little did they know that all they were witnessing was all planned out to deceive them all.
