The last thing I remembered was seeing Babosa leave and Josh standing there. His betrayal still echoed in my mind. The fabric in my mouth muffled my scream. Terror eating me whole as the Spiders clambered over me.

After that affliction. I thought I had died.

I hadn't known I was alive or had shifted until a voice drew me and pulled me back from the dark place I was looming.
