Chapter Forty–three ~Our Friendship Ends~

"Stop…" my voice trailed off as I tried to catch my breath. I rush towards Leo. "Stop yelling, please. Someone might hear you."

"Is that what you care about? That someone might hear me!" He angrily walked to the cabinets, dragged it, and pulled out the paper I had hidden there. He raised it. The written arrangements of how my fake mate bond with Jasper was going to be and the terms and conditions stared at me.

I closed my eyes from shame realising Leo had read all of it.

"Please, Leo. Stop yelling."

"I don't care. Leave me alone!" Leo blurted, stepping away from me and throwing the paper on the floor. "You lied to me."

"I'm sorry. I wanted to tell you but—"

"But you didn't trust me enough to tell me, right."

My eyes were warm with tears. "No, don't say that. It's not true."

"Of course, you didn't trust me! Ever since you started hanging out with Jasper. I don't understand you anymore. So this was what you two were up to?"
