108 : The Stolen Glasses

Elijah smiles and ruffles his hair. “I have to go back to my pack.”

He pouts, his brows furrowing. “No! Stay. We’ll play all night and you can tell me bedtime stories,” he whines.

I sigh. “Sweetie, he has work to do. He’ll come to meet you again soon.” Elijah looks at me, surprise flickering in his eyes. In a way, I told him that he can come here as many times as he wants. I want to tell Ezra right now about Elijah, but he has just recovered from a deadly curse. The information might overwhelm him and I don’t want that.

I think Elijah understands that too.

He smiles. “Yeah, I’ll come back to meet you. We’ll play together and I’ll tell you a good bedtime story.”

“Promise?” Ezra asks.

Elijah nods. “Promise.”

“Okay. See you later!” Ezra releases his leg and runs up the stairs to play with the twins.
