Scarlett's POV

" Scarlett, come here." I heard Alpha Carlos's voice, making my heart leap in my chest.

"Is there something wrong with the food? Did I do something wrong?" Different thoughts crept into my head.

I spun around and paced towards him with my heart beating rapidly in my chest that I thought it would soon bust.

" Who prepared this meal?" Alpha Carlos asked as he keenly looked at me as if he could see through me.

" Did he know that it was Felix who helped me out? But, there was nobody in the kitchen aside from Felix and I. How did he know?" I shook my head to clear all the thoughts that were crawling in my head as I thought of whether to tell him the truth or not.

" Are you deaf? Can't you speak or have the dogs cut your tongue?" His words jerked me out of my thoughts and I jumped in fear.

" Uhm... I prepared the meal myself." I responded, keeping my voice steady.

" Oh, I see," he said lazily as he returned his gaze to his food.
