A Lycan Wolf

Cassi's Pov

There's nothing to live for anymore, my life was a lie, a complete lie, no one was related to me, I'm a stranger here and everywhere, my life is a lie, a blatant lie; with these thoughts, I plunged myself down the cliff, I sank to the bottom of the following river or whatever it was, I could have kicked against death.

It was easy to try to swim and fight for my life but I have no will to live, life was tiring, I felt the life seeping out of me as I embraced the darkness that was hovering above and then I felt nothing, nothing at all, no pain, rejection, joy or anything, I felt numb, very numb, I got the peace I wanted or so I thought.

I opened my eyes as I felt some rays shine on them, I closed them back as the rays of light penetrated my Iris and my pupils couldn't process that much light at once, I opened them back once I was sure I could.

It was quite draining; to open my eyes but I was quite confused as my eyes scanned my environment, I could see white walls and pure light surrounding where I was, it was white and very beautiful, I smiled; something I thought I could achieve, a joy sprang from within me, I was probably in heaven or somewhere peaceful.

I suddenly remembered I had a body and I looked down at it, my body was intact; I was lying on the softest and most comfy bed ever, the sheets were white and I was also dressed in a white shiny gown, it was beautiful to behold and I chuckled.

I was amazed by the beauty of the entire scene, I was definitely in heaven. I sat up and saw two beautiful women also dressed in white apparel, they had the most beautiful smile ever and I concluded they would be angels, they are angels to be precise! I was in heaven! I made it to heaven and my joy knew no bounds.

Finally! I had left the miserable life behind, and the female angels who had no wings were still smiling at me, I had searched for their wings with my eyes but found none, I believe angels had wings but then I also believed my earthly parents were my biological parents but turned out none of it was true, few angels without wings wouldn't hurt.

"I'm in heaven isn't it?" I asked.

They chuckled lightly and I could have sworn their chuckles sounded musical to my ears.

"She's awake." One of them said,

"Ah yes! She's very beautiful." The other responded.

I smiled knowing they were referring to me, no one ever called me beautiful so it was normal for me to blush hard but then I noticed something; the two women were extraordinarily beautiful.

"Welcome back Princess." One of the women said.

I thought I'd heard her wrong. "You say what?" I asked.

"Princess." She repeated and they both bowed.

I was confused and then laughed when I remembered I was in heaven and in heaven everyone is royalty so I didn't dwell much on their words.

"Thank you, angels," I said politely.

They looked at one another curiously and confusedly.

"What? Is something wrong? Did I say something bad?" I asked.

"No, my princess, it's just that we're quite confused about who you are referring to." One of the women replied.

"You two," I said.

"Us? But why would you refer to us angels?"

"Because you're angels, aren't you? I'm in heaven right?" I asked.

They looked at one another once more and chuckled lightly.

"What made you think you're in heaven Princess? You're in your kingdom."

"Say what now? I'm not in heaven? But I almost drowned, no! I drowned and died on the floor and I'm dressed in white and you two as well and everything is perfect and very beautiful, this has to be heaven!" I insisted.

I was confused and losing my mind, I wasn't in heaven? He'll perhaps? But hell isn't this beautiful?

"Calm down Princess, you aren't dead and you're very much alive, believe us, this isn't heaven but another kingdom, why would you think that you're dead? Look; the sun is just Rose and it's still morning. Why would you think you're in heaven?"

"So... You're saying I'm not dead?" I asked.

"Yes."

"And I'm not in heaven either?"

"Yes, Princess."

"And you two are?"

"Your maids."

"And I'm a princess?"

"Exactly!"

I stared at them and then back at my body, it was shocking and unbelievable, were they playing a prank on me? It wasn't funny though.

"Is this some sort of a prank? Who sent you? Is it Alder? Did he hire you to do this? You saved me to make my life more miserable and deceive me right?" I yelled angrily.

"Who is Alder? Princess, please remain calm as we do not know what or who you're talking about but we can assure you that we speak no lies to you."

"Stop calling me princess! I am not a Princess! Aren't you too callous? How can you do this to me?" I asked sadly.

"We aren't doing anything, please, remain calm."

"I can't be calm, can't I just die in peace? Must I be deceived my whole life?" I said.

I was tense and teary, everything was a lie, and I wasn't even sure where I was or what to believe.

"Princess..."

"Get out! Let me be! Don't you dare Princess me!" I screamed angrily and began to throw whatever it was that I could find at them.

They initially dodged it and tried to calm me down but I had none of it, I didn't even notice someone else had joined them.

"Be calm." A melodious voice said.

I was calm instantly and turned my head to see an older and beautiful version of me, she looked more beautiful than the two women who had attended to me, there was a kind of peaceful aura around her, the women bowed to her and she dismissed them with the wave of her hand.

"Queen, she's been out of control and throwing a tantrum." One of the women explained.

"It's fine, you can leave us now." The woman referred to as the queen said.

The woman bowed and left instantly, she smiled widely and slowly walked toward me. She gently took the pillow I was holding from me and set it on the bed. She caressed my cheeks and gently patted my hair. I felt joyous and attached to her immediately.

"My child." She whispered.

"I'm confused." I blurted out.

"I know you are and it's normal, you have to be, come with me." She said gently and stood up, she helped me up also and we left the room.

We walked a few meters and got to a door, she opened it and there it was before me; the most beautiful garden I'd ever seen, she chuckled seeing the look on my face, she picked a flower and gave me, the scent was wonderful and out of this world, she smiled at me and we explored the garden together and admired the flowers.

"This is where I come to when I'm confused, I always leave full of energy and purpose." She said quietly.

"This is beautiful." I blurted.

"Yes, and you are as well, my dear daughter." She said,

I turned to face her.

"But how? I'm confused." I asked her.

She smiled at me and made me sit on a swing with her.

"I'll explain everything to you darling, we lost a princess when she was born, I thought I'd never see my daughter again and that she was dead, I lived my whole life aching to meet her again, your father; the alpha and King was roaming the lands Faraway few days ago and according to him; he caught a whiff of our scents, something only lycan royalties can do, he found you drowning and he brought you back here, turned out you are our lost daughter, you don't know how glad this makes me, he is the one who saw you and instantly knew from your scent that you're royalty." She explained.

"Wow! This is hard to believe." I confessed.

"I know, which is why we also got a DNA test to make sure we're right and it came out ninety-nine percent positive, you are our daughter, you're the lost princess of the lycan empire!" She said with a teary eye, she was on the verge of crying.

I couldn't believe my ears, I am a werewolf! Lycan royalty, I burst into tears.

"What's wrong darling? Did I say something wrong?" She asked worriedly.

"No you didn't, it's just that I've gone he'll think I'm human and not a werewolf, my mate rejected me because of that, I was an outcast and nothing was fine in my life, I got tired of living and tried to take my own life, turns out I'm a werewolf!"
