Kevin's POV

"Ella! Ella! Wait up!" I shouted her name.

She should have turned at the first call. She was a werewolf with heightened hearing and shouldn't have difficulties hearing her name when called especially when I was calling her at that distance. She should have heard me as I wasn't far to her. Not answering at the first time she was called could only mean one thing. She was distracted and was lost in her thoughts.

Did she always have to make me panic? I sighed as I continued running. A distracted person on a dangerous path such as this was as good as prey for the wild and strange creatures here, an easily killed prey at that.

The kids didn't hear me call as well but I didn't blame them for that. They were still young and their senses weren't as heightened as their mother's would be.
