“I need to find my daughter!” Beta Paul dropped his remark.

“Are you listening, Paul?” Betty, his second wife, responded with hostility. “I told you that Elizabeth ran away from home! She doesn’t want to marry Max, that’s why she ran away with her lover.”

“There’s no way my daughter would do that,” Paul muttered with trembling eyes. His state of breaking down was clear as day.
