Elizabeth’s POV

“Why did you come back?”

Hogan lifted his face and was staring at me with his chest heaving. Look at those wild eyes. It was as if he was trying to figure out what to do with me.

Was he disappointed that I stubbornly stayed even if he begged me to leave him alone? Was he… mad?

“Because I need to cook for breakfast.”

But when I answered that, I saw tears mist in his eyes and my chest squeezed. Instead of looking mad, he looked like a man who lost track of time while searching for me.

‘He’s sad. He felt so lonely thinking that I left him alone.’

But then again, I cannot misinterpret him again. Although I decided to forget the harsh words he told me last night, the pain I had would remain.

“I thought if I exercised and trained while you were sl
