Chapter 10 Him Again

I knew what he meant when he said that. The weight of his words hung in the air, heavy and inescapable. Just like I know and Jasper knows. It was a silent understanding.

I nodded, a small, almost imperceptible gesture that conveyed my acceptance. No words were necessary. They would only dilute the gravity of the moment. I turned and left the room, each step echoing in the silence that followed.
