CHAPTER 74

ANNA KYLIN CHESTER

I CAME AWAKE very slowly. I realized that I was on my bed and there was a cold napkin on my forehead. I sat up gently and looked around. The room was dim but I could hear someone moving in the sitting room.

I tried to talk but my throat was parched and dry.

The door opened and a small silhouette came in. I saw it was Reine. She noticed that I was awake and she rushed to my side. "Luna, you are awake." She put her hand on my cheek to feel my temperature, and then she took the napkin from my forehead. She brought a small glass cup with a straw to my mouth. I sucked on it and found my voice. "How long was I out for?"

"I don't know, Luna," She said. "I was not checking the time. But almost 4 hours."

I sat up with some effort and assistance from Reine. She wrung her hands together, "I came in to prepare your dinner before you came back from work," she said. "I found you on the carpet. I feared you were not breathing."

"So you carried me to bed?" I frowned.

She nodded.
