24. Three Years Ago, I Was You

April's POV

I was about to head to class when a car engine rev caught my attention. I looked up and turned to see Dorian's car pull up to the school parking lot.

Why was he here again?

My question was answered very quickly as two doors opened.

I saw Paige step out of the car with him, and a lump formed in my throat. It seemed that Susan wasn't joking. Paige was actually going to be the Luna of the pack.

I gripped my pen hard in pain and anger. Why was he always making a fool of me? If he didn't love me, then he should reject me and get it over with. Whenever I saw him with another lady, my heart ached in agony.

The bell rang for a break, and I left the class. Today was much better than I expected. No one looked my way and tried to bother me. There were no weird stares or snickering behind my back. Probably because Paige had been absent for most of the day, and her witchy self wasn't there to spur everyone to make fun of me.

I walked quietly to my locker and put my books away. No one
