Chapter 22 - Jealousy

GEORGE'S POV

"What was that all about?" I demanded as I slammed the door behind me, my anger and frustration spilling over. Paris was lying on the bed, her face a mask of innocence.

"What do you mean?" she asked, feigning confusion. She knew exactly what I was talking about, and She was enjoying my frustration.

"Don't play dumb with me," I said, my voice rising. "I know you were trying to make me uncomfortable at dinner. Why?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," she said, turning her back to me and facing the wall.

"Who was that guy?" I blurted out, my voice tinged with jealousy. I didn't know why I was so upset. I didn't have any claim on her, and she was free to do as she pleased. But the thought of her with someone else made my stomach churn with jealousy. "The chemistry I saw between the two of you was undeniable," I said, my voice heavy with accusation. "You must be his lover. Or at least, you want to be."

She sat up on the bed, her eyes locked on mine, a mocking smile p
