Chapter 24 - A Broken Mom

LONDON'S POV,

Paris's death had shaken my family to its core, and its effects were still being felt months later. My mother, in particular, had been deeply affected by the loss of her daughter. I could only imagine the pain she was feeling, the hole that Paris's death had left in her heart.

So when I saw that my brother was calling me, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. What could he be calling about? I hoped it wasn't more bad news, that he wasn't calling to tell me that my mother had taken a turn for the worse. I took a deep breath and answered the call.

"It's Mom," he said, his voice full of resignation. "She's at it again."

I knew what he meant. My mother had been behaving strange since Paris death and it seemed like she was having another episode. I dropped my keys on the table and rushed to the door, grabbing my coat on the way out. I had to get to my family's house as soon as possible. I couldn't let her suffer alone, not again.
