Chapter 31 - Almost Got Caught

OLIVER'S POV

As I sat at the dinner table, my phone kept ringing, making me feel increasingly uncomfortable. I knew I had to excuse myself to answer the call, which was from Charlotte, who had been calling nonstop. My mother had noticed the change in my demeanor, and she raised her left eyebrow in a questioning manner. I responded with a single nod, my eyes fixed on hers.

I left my meal almost done, and bid them goodnight, as I stood up to leave, Cassandra followed after.

"Hold on for a moment dear, let's catch up a little," my mom said to Cassandra with a wide smile, I knew she was allowing me to settle whatever it was that needed to be settled,

"Hurry and come inside babe, don't make me wait so long," I playfully said to Cassandra, giving my mom a wink which she perfectly understood,
