"I know you still want to play but it is nine at night and frankly, I don't think ten-year-olds should be awake at this time," I argued back and tried to tug the blanket over his chest. Tried to tuck it beneath his chin.

Keanu relented. Flailed his arms so that it was near impossible for me to tuck him in. There was a deep frown on his face. His lips were lightly pursed in defiance. I sighed.

"I want to play some more. I only got to see Kamari once today and now I have to sleep. It isn't fair." He argued back. I rolled my eyes and sat down on the edge of his bed.

Why my mother still insisted that Keanu be tucked in at night, I had no idea. It was preposterous. No one ever did such things for me.

Maybe that's why she insisted now. Mommy didn't give me enough attention as a boy and that is why I have all these issues.
