Suicide

Chapter Three

Elodie's P.O.V

It was now evident that not only was the moon goddess against me but the whole universe. In the span of a week, I was divorced and thrown out of the pack house and to worsen it, my father passed away in a coma.

Everything fell apart for me!

My brothers coveted everything that my father had, leaving me with nothing! This was just too much for me and I didn’t deserve half of the pain that I received.

I lost everything. My marriage, my position, my inheritance, and most importantly my father.

Wiping off my tears with the back of my hands, Doctor Patel flashed me a faint smile as he sat before me. “Elodie, I am sorry for your loss….”

I hung my head low in despair and the tears that I had been trying so hard to hide cascaded down my cheeks like a free fall. “You said that he was going to get better, Dr Patel” My voice was barely above a whisper as I clutched my chest.

Doctor Patel leaned forward with his forearms on the table. “Believe me Elodie, he was showing signs of recovery. I just don’t know how it happened”

Sniffling, I raised my head, locking eyes with him and a faint smile spread across my face. “You know that you raised my hopes high, Doctor Patel. Anyways, you tried your best”

He muttered. “I am sorry”

Wiping off my tears. “It isn’t your fault. You tried your best, thank you for everything, Dr Patel”

He nodded.

Biting the corner of my lower lips, confusion began swirling in my mind again. “So, Dr Patel, I think that there is a mistake somewhere…..”

“How?” He asked.

“I mean, the test results that say that I am pregnant. There is in no way that I am pregnant…..”

As long as I could remember, except for the one-night stand with Darius, while we were married, we had never been intimate. So if we have never been intimate while we were married, then how was I even pregnant?

Dr Patel smiled, heaving a sigh before he slid another test result to me. “This is the third test result that you have asked for in a week, Elodie, and the results are still the same. You are two weeks pregnant”

Walking out of the hospital while clutching the results to my chest, different thoughts coursed through my mind. I stopped in my tracks, staring down at my stomach before averting my gaze back to the test results.

It didn’t make any sense!

How could I be pregnant when I have…….

I froze when a memory flashed through my head. Staying rooted in the same spot, the memories occupied my thoughts, rushing through my head like a flood.

Just a month ago, Darius had thrown a party which I was forced to attend against my will since I was the Luna and it was my duty to stick by his side. We both got drunk at the party and somehow, we had sex.

As the realization dawned on me, I staggered backwards, almost losing balance as my hands flew over my mouth.

“No!” I screamed at the top of my lungs.

There was in no way that I was pregnant for that monster.

Why was the moon goddess doing this to me? I would rather die than birth Darius’s child!

This was a nightmare.

In frustration, I tore the results, the sound of rippling papers piercing through the air.

Without thinking twice, I got into my car, driving to nowhere as different thoughts swirled in my mind. At that moment, the death of my father began to weigh in on me and before I knew it, I broke down in tears.

Each breath was a struggle, suffocating me as tears clouded my eyes. With every passing second, it felt like thousands of needles pierced into my heart.

Lowering my head as my fingers trembled against the steering wheel, I raised my head but it was too late because in the blink of an eye, I lost control of the car.

The screech of tires against the asphalt echoed through the air as my car careened off the road.

All of a sudden, the sound of shattered glasses, and twisted metals filled the air as I crashed onto the railing around the bridge.

For a moment, everything went still and I felt a sharp pain in my head.

With trembling hands, I fumbled with the car's locks, pushing the door open. I drew a ragged breath, staggering towards the edge of the bridge.

“It all ends here” A smile that faltered crossed my face, staring at the ocean that loomed below the bridge.

Images of my son and my father flashed through my head.

“I am coming to meet you, my dear son……” I muttered under my breath.

I couldn’t even think straight and the only thing I wanted was to end all my pain.

Squeezing my eyes shut, and bracing myself as I got ready to jump into the ocean, a voice that caused the hair on my body to stand to the very end, echoed through the place.

With fear gnawing at me, I turned my head in the direction where the voice emanated.

A man dressed in a black coat with his hands slipped down his pockets and stood behind me. Darting my eyes to his face, my eyes almost bulged out of its sockets.

With a chiseled jawline that accentuated his features, it soon hit me that I knew this face.

Staring intently at him, my eyes soon widened in disbelief as my hands flew over my mouth in shock.

He was the rogue king— The same king who made life a living hell for Darius by trying to take the pack from him so many times.

“Marcel”

But, he was declared dead years ago.

“Yeah, Marcel”

His voice caused chills to run down my spine as I stared at him in disbelief.

“Are you just going to end things? What about the vow that you made to Darius about making him grovel at your feet for mercy”

Wait! How does he even know?

“You know nothing about me” I screamed at him.

Tilting his head to the left, he said. “Of course I know you more than you even know yourself. Right now, you carrying Darius’s child!”

I froze.

How does he know something that Darius doesn’t even know?

Taking the full weight of my gaze. “Shouldn’t the people who put you in this position pay for all their sins?”

I was stunned into silence. Then he stretched his hands to me. “Take my hands now, Elordie if you really want to make Darius grovel at your feet”

“What exactly are you going to do, Marcel?”

He stepped forward, his eyes piercing into mine. “Break him!”
